Masks to be mandatory

Masks COVID SOCIAL 1

Effective October 8th, masks will be mandatory in all of our corporate stores.

Q: Why is ANBL making masks mandatory while in your stores?

With cold weather approaching, ANBL is updating our COVID-19 safety procedures to prevent lineups and having our customers waiting outside to enter our stores. By making masks mandatory while in our stores we can continue to keep our team members and customers safe, while increasing the capacity in the store.

Q: I have a medical condition which creates a health risk when I wear a mask, do I have to wear one?

Face masks are not required when:

  • A medical professional has advised a customer that wearing a mask may pose a health risk to or impair the breathing of the wearer.

  • The person is physically unable to put on or take off the mask without assistance.

  • The person has trouble breathing, is unconscious or cannot remove the mask without help.

  • The person is deaf or hard of hearing and relies on facial and mouth movements to communicate

  • The person is a baby or toddler under two years of age.

Q: Even with the implementation of mandatory masks, I still do not feel comfortable entering a store. Is there any other way I can purchase product?

ANBL has launched a curb-side pickup program that allows customers the ability to place an order and pick it up on the same day, without having to leave their vehicle. For all information pertaining to this program, please visit click here.

MODERATION DURING A PANDEMIC

New Brunswickers have been practicing physical distancing for a few weeks now, a challenge none of us were truly prepared for and one that has far reaching impacts on all parts of life.  It’s important to keep in touch with friends and family through various phone or internet options, and to try to manage feelings of isolation or anxiety.  It’s also an important time to pay attention to alcohol intake.  Refer to Canada’s low-risk drinking guidelines and pay attention to your alcohol intake.

Many of the markers that people naturally use to monitor drinking are drastically reduced or eliminated in the current environment.  Driving, getting up early for work or lack of time may no longer be reasons to curb alcohol consumption.  You likely also have greater access when you’re at home.  And the daily structure of routine is gone, making time feel irrelevant.

These are all reasons to be more diligent than ever in monitoring alcohol consumption.  The ability to overconsume, paired with the stress and anxiety of isolation requires careful attention to moderation.  Educ’alcool recommends three steps to stay in the “moderation zone”:

- Count your drinks
- Adhere to Canada’s recommended low-risk drinking guidelines
- Alternate alcohol and non-alcohol drinks

If you’re in good health, a drink now and then can be safe, and socializing with virtual happy hours, where people use meeting apps to get together for a drink and some conversation, can be fun and a good substitute to getting together.  Just be aware of how much you are consuming – moderation is key.

If you are in recovery, it is important during this time to maintain your contact with your addiction and mental health counselor by keeping all your appointments. You should not postpone your appointments until after the outbreak is over. All the Addiction and Mental Health services across the province remain open. Your clinician may even be able to offer telephone or video appointments.

Thank you to everyone for their cooperation as we all work to keep our communities safe. A reminder for our customers:

March 19 2020

Our first priority at ANBL remains the health and safety of our teams and customers and we are taking significant preventive measures to ensure this. ANBL remains open, however, because of resource constraints resulting from measures taken to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, we have implemented a minimum number of temporary closures to ensure appropriate staffing levels. We will continue to manage our network to best serve our customers in a safe and healthy environment.

We thank our customers for the patience they’ve shown our team members over the last week as we’ve implemented steps to keep us all safe.

ANBL continues to assess the situation and make necessary changes as required. ANBL takes its responsibilities as a trusted retailer very seriously and will continue to act on the advice of public health officials.

We all play a role in keeping each other and our community safe – our team will do our part and we ask our customers to do the same. We respectfully ask that our customers respect social distancing while in our stores to protect themselves and our team members.

March 17 2020

We are receiving a lot of questions on whether our stores are open – and we currently are. ANBL will continue operating as long as it is safe to do so based on the advice and recommendations of our public health officials.

The safety of our team members and customers continues to be our number one priority and we are taking many steps in stores to ensure the safety of New Brunswickers, including:

  • Discontinuing growler fills and tastings
  • Increasing sanitization practices within stores
  • Practicing frequent hand washing, hygiene practices and social distancing
  • Requesting our customers pay with debit and credit cards and beginning March 18 no longer accepting cash
  • Limiting the number of customers going into a store at a time to manage the volume of interactions and promote social distancing.

We thank our customers for their patience during this time and apologize in advance for long wait times.

The response to the COVID-19 pandemic requires each corporation, business and individual to act in the best interest of our communities.

We also ask that if you have recently travelled outside of Canada, and returned since March 13, you refrain from visiting our stores and follow the federal government’s self-isolation practices.

Payment Options

For the safety of our team members and our customers ANBL’s preferred method of payment is debit or credit card.

We are asking all our customers to please pay with their debit or credit cards.

Message to our valued customers and partners

At ANBL, the health and safety of our team members, customers and partners is our number one priority as we navigate the ongoing situation around COVID-19.

The team at ANBL is continuously monitoring the situation and making changes as necessary based on advice from federal and provincial public health officials. As a result, customers may notice a change in their experience when visiting us in store – all these changes are to help keep our team, customers and the community as safe as we can.

As per the direction of the federal government, any team members who have traveled outside of Canada as of March 13, 2020 are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days. We are working with our team members on a case-by-case basis to lessen the stress on them and their families due to this situation and we will ensure that no one loses pay for COVID-19 related absences.

We have cancelled all out-of-province travel for our team until further notice. Additionally, all team members who can work from home are asked to do so and we are postponing or moving meetings and interviews to virtual options.

We are also increasing sanitization practices within our stores to ensure surfaces are routinely cleaned and that employees are reminded of best practices like frequent hand washing and hygiene practices that reduce the spread of respiratory viruses like COVID-19. We have also discontinued all tastings and growler fills to help protect our customers and team.

Our team members will also be practicing social distancing with customers and co-workers. Customers will notice this while paying as we are reducing the number of cash lanes available and adding measures to increase the distance between our team members and customers. These additional safety measures could result in an increased wait and we thank you for in advance for your patience.

At this time, we do not anticipate any impact on our supply and are routinely monitoring the situation by working with our suppliers.

Our mission at ANBL is to responsibly manage a successful business for the people of New Brunswick and we know we can’t do that without ensuring the health and safety of our team members and the customers we serve. We will continue operating as long as it is safe to do so based on the advice and recommendations of our public health officials.
